Introduction

Community care in action can look differently for each community. One way that it has been and continues to be practiced is through Mutual Aid. Practices within communities have also taken on radical and transformative approaches to navigating harm within communities. Mutual aid groups, grass roots organizations, non-profit organizations have been historically led by the necessity to care for one another because current state policies and structures do not care for us. Below you will learn about what mutual aid and transformative justice is, current examples of it in practice, and how to start implementing these practices within your community.
