Volunteer

Grant writers research, draft, and submit proposals that help organizations or individuals receive grant funding.

At TransCare+ we accept experienced grant writers and those keen on learning. We will provide individuals with the necessary training to complete grant applications. We also welcome folks who are interested in searching for grant opportunities and learning how to complete grant reporting.

Responsibilities may include:

• Researching and identifying grant opportunities available to the organization
• Completing and submitting grant applications to secure funding
• Managing relationships with grantees and providing funders with supporting documentation (progress reports, final reports, etc.).

A fundraiser is a person who seeks out donations through fundraising activities. TransCare+ is open to working with volunteers to plan fundraising events or supporting volunteers in pre-planned events.

Some fundraising examples include, holding an event in your workplace, hosting a public event, running challenge events such as runs, walks, or sporting events, and bake sales, craft sales, car washes, and other community events.

Responsibilities may include:

• Developing and organizing fundraising initiatives and programs
• Raising awareness and generating support for the fundraising initiative by collaborating with other organizations and partners
• Engaging members and donors through different incentives such as giveaways and events.
• Monitoring income donations and maintaining relationships with donors

Resource Assistants help compile, sort, and develop resources on a specific topic(s).

At TransCare+ we invite volunteers to take part in self-directed or collaborative resource collection and development. Resource Assistants are encouraged to work on topics that inspire them under the broad umbrella of care.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting in researching and compiling library resources
• Drafting resource documents (i.e., creating reading lists/syllabi)
• Developing how to guides and fact sheets
• Completing resource scans on various topics

TransCare+ is engaged in many community-based research projects and are always looking for folks to join us.

Whether you are an experiences researcher, a junior academic, a knowledge user, or just someone who wants to learn, we are happy to support folks in getting involved in community-based research.

Responsibilities may include:

• Complete literature reviews
• Knowledge translation and mobilization activities
• Research design, planning, and ethics application
• Data collection and analysis
