Mutual aid is the practice of everyday people gathering to meet each other’s needs with a shared understanding that the systems we live in do not meet our needs and try to meet them together without relying on power structures to change.
All About...
Pod Mapping
Pod mapping is the process of identifying the people in your pod (i.e. circle/group), defining the resources they have, and brainstorming what you can offer to them.
* Your pod(s) may shift over time, as your needs and relationships change.
Create your own
Review our example, download a fresh sheet, and follow the instructions below to complete your own pod mapping exercise!
1.
Write your name in the middle circle
2.
The surrounding bold outlines are your core pod. Write the names of people who are in your pod.
3.
The dashed outlines are people who are "moveable". they could be in your pod, but you need to build more trust with them.
4.
The large circles on the edge are networks, groups, community, or organizations that could provide support.
